Reference values of renal excretion of fluoride.
Fluoride was measured in the spontaneous urine of a group of persons (n = 397) occupationally non-exposed to fluoride. At a concentration less than 2 . 10(-4) g/kg fluoride in drinking water the mean fluoride excretion in urine is 0.61 mg/l F with an upper limit of 2.00 mg/l F. The 95-percentile of normal fluoride excretion is 1.0 mg/l F. By correcting the values for the specific gravity of 1.0...
متن کاملEstimation of Reference Values of Biochemical Parameters Exploring the Renal Function in Adults in Ngaoundere, Cameroon
Clinical examinations are accompanied by biological analyzes to guide or confirm the clinical diagnosis. The results of these analyzes are interpreted by comparison with reference values. Studies on the biological norms of Africans are rare if not quasi-nonexistent. The aim of this study was to establish population-specific reference values for biochemical indices serving as renal function biom...
متن کاملRenal excretion of fluoride in renal failure and after renal transplantation.
We have compared the renal excretion of fluoride in a variety of patients with chronic renal failure maintained with and without protein restriction before and during regular dialysis treatment and after transplantation. The patients tended to continue to excrete normal dietary loads of fluoride quite well until renal function was seriously reduced. From a regression of function on excretion th...
متن کاملHepatobiliary excretion of 99mTc-EC: A potential source of mistake in the interpretation of renal scintigraphy
A 10-year-old boy with a history of bloody discoloration of urine following recent appendectomy was referred to our department for urinary leakage/fistula evaluation. A renal Technetium-99m-L,L-ethylenedicysteine (99mTc-EC) scintigraphy was performed. After injection of radiotracer, a focus of activity appeared in the supralateral part of the right kidney which was confirmed as accum...
متن کاملReference values of fractional excretion of exhaled nitric oxide among non-smokers and current smokers
BACKGROUND Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FENO) is used to assess of airway inflammation; diagnose asthma and monitor adherence to advised therapy. Reliable and accurate reference values for FENO are needed for both non-smoking and current smoking adults in the clinical setting. The present study was performed to establish reference adult FENO values among never-smokers, former smokers and cu...
